Overview

The Welder position involves preparing surfaces for welding, fitting parts, and welding piping and manifolds according to blueprint specifications. Candidates should have experience with TIG or MIG welding and be capable of working with carbon steel structural shapes.

Responsibilities

• Prepares surfaces to be welded and fits parts.
• Welds piping and manifolds according to blueprint specifications.
• Cuts, grinds, drills holes, and welds steel.
• Uses plasma cutter to cut I-beams and steel plates.
• Tack welds scrap metal to outline for assembly.
• Positions parts in jig and files, chisels, and grinds parts as needed.
• Anneals parts with acetylene torch to remove stresses of welding.

Requirements

• Requires 2-4 years of TIG or MIG welding experience.
• Must be able to weld carbon steel structural shapes and skid frames.
• Ability to weld from all angles and positions.
• Possess mechanical aptitude.
• Able to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical tasks such as stooping, crouching, bending, climbing, and kneeling.
