Overview
The Welder is responsible for welding assemblies according to shop drawings, maintaining welding equipment, and operating hand tools, forklifts, and overhead cranes. This position is supervised by the Shop Manager.
Responsibilities
- Weld assemblies per shop drawings.
- Maintain welding equipment.
- Use hand tools and operate a forklift and overhead crane.
- Read a tape measure.
- Interpret shop drawings.
- Cut, punch, and drill material precisely.
- Keep work area clean.
- Lift heavy objects.
- Setup, run, and maintain welder machine.
- Work with Fabricator to determine needed parts.
- Follow directions.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Welding experience and certification preferred.
- Must possess current Motor Vehicle Operator's License if operating a vehicle.
- Must be forklift certified.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English.
- Knowledge of different products and materials used.
- Ability to identify quality issues or defects in materials.
- Ability to read and understand shop drawings.

Additional Information
- Work does not involve significant out of town travel.
- Primary work location is a warehouse/production facility.
- Work is generally performed between 6:00 and 4:30.
- Noise level is usually moderately high due to machinery.
