Overview

Technique is looking for a Fabricator to join their team at a North Carolina chassis facility, responsible for producing precision sheet metal components and fabricated assemblies for various industries including aerospace and automotive. The role requires a skilled craftsperson who values quality and precision in their work.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate sheet metal components and assemblies from raw stock to finished dimensions using various equipment.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications accurately.
  • Plan and perform accurate layout of parts prior to forming and cutting.
  • Operate press brakes and forming equipment to achieve complex geometries and precise dimensions.
  • Perform shearing, laser cutting, or plasma cutting operations to produce blanks and finished profiles.
  • Perform MIG, TIG, or spot welding operations as required.
  • Use precision measuring instruments to inspect work at each fabrication stage.
  • Deburr, grind, and finish fabricated components to meet drawing requirements.
  • Handle raw materials and finished parts with care to prevent damage.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in setup methods and processes.
  • Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean workstation.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 2–3 years of hands-on fabrication experience in a precision or production sheet metal environment.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with press brakes, shears, punches, and forming equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T specifications accurately.
  • Proficient use of precision measuring instruments including calipers and micrometers.
  • MIG, TIG, or spot welding experience preferred; willingness to cross-train in welding processes required.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and stand for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working in an active manufacturing environment with exposure to noise and metal dust.

Additional Information

  • This is a full-time, non-exempt position with a minimum of 40 hours per week and overtime as needed.
  • Days and hours required may vary.
  • Shift premiums are available.
