Overview

The Welder/Fabricator position at McWilliams in Rockaway, New Jersey, offers a hands-on role in an industrial manufacturing environment, focusing on precision welding and fabrication to support plant maintenance and production needs. This full-time position is part of the Wyman Gordon division and emphasizes safety and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Perform MIG, TIG, and Stick welding on carbon steel and other materials.
• Fabricate parts, structures, frames, and components to support plant operations.
• Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and work orders.
• Measure, cut, grind, and prepare materials for welding and assembly.
• Repair and rebuild industrial equipment, guards, platforms, and supports.
• Operate fabrication equipment such as saws, torches, grinders, and plasma cutters.
• Inspect finished welds and fabricated parts to ensure quality and safety standards.
• Follow all safety procedures, including PPE and hot-work requirements.
• Work collaboratively with maintenance and production teams as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• 3–5 years of welding and fabrication experience preferred, or equivalent training.
• Proficiency in MIG welding; TIG and Stick experience a strong plus.
• Ability to read and work from blueprints and fabrication drawings.
• Solid understanding of welding safety practices and procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable, motivated, and safety-focused mindset.

Additional Information

• This is a 2nd shift role (Monday-Friday 2pm-10:30pm).
• The range of pay for this role is $24 to $35 USD Hourly.
