Overview

The Night Shift Supervisor at Southwest Steel is responsible for overseeing nightly operations within production, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently, safely, and according to quality standards. This role requires strong leadership and collaboration with management and team leaders to meet production goals and promote safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Manage the production process according to the established production schedule.
• Ensure efficiency and performance objectives are met or exceeded.
• Enforce safety and health guidelines and maintain a safe working environment.
• Supervise, mentor, and train new employees while supporting existing staff.
• Review subordinates' performance regularly and provide constructive feedback.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Facilitate effective communication between employees and management.
• Investigate incidents or violations of company policies and document findings.
• Collaborate with supervisors to ensure timely provision of resources.
• Assess subordinates' skill levels and provide development opportunities.
• Perform other tasks and duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
• 5-10 years of experience as a Fitter/Welder, with prior supervisory experience preferred.
• Dependable and reliable with the maturity to manage a team safely.
• Strong technical welding and blueprint reading skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Proven ability to supervise employees and production processes.
• Strong planning, organizational, and leadership skills.
• Basic math skills for measuring, calculations, and budgeting.
