Responsibilities

• Utilize blueprints to fit up and fabricate metal components and equipment.
• Tack weld or weld components and assemblies using various welding processes.
• Perform first order inspection to ensure accuracy and quality standards.
• Use jib and overhead cranes to move assembled parts.
• Demonstrate safe working practices and standards.
• Coordinate helpers and train all levels of fitters.
• Assist manager with budget and time management.
• Promote a positive work environment and embody core values.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• 5+ years of experience in welding, metal fabrication, and fitting.
• Good mathematical skills including geometry and trigonometry.
• Knowledge of various cutting and welding techniques.
• Ability to operate fabrication tools and machinery.
• Good communication and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of production and manufacturing in a sheet metal facility.
• Ability to maintain a safe working environment.
