Job Description

Overview

The Combination Welder is responsible for prioritizing safety in daily work routines while using various welding methods to construct and maintain high- and low-pressure vessels, pipeline systems, and related equipment under general supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Use oxyacetylene, electric welding, and heat fusion methods for joining operations.
  • Lay out, measure, cut, fit, and prepare materials for joining.
  • Perform maintenance and repair of distribution piping and equipment.

Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent.
  • Minimum of six months progressive experience in pipefitting work.
  • At least one year of training and experience in welding in the gas or related utility industry.
  • Ability to work from and complete legible construction drawings.
  • Familiarity with hazards involved in welding and fusing in the presence of gas vapors.
  • Completion of a course at a Cascade Natural Gas Corporation welding and fusion school.
  • Valid first aid card required.
  • Ability to qualify for and acquire a commercial driver's license.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States, no sponsorships considered.
  • Subject to pre-employment drug testing and background checks.
  • Ability to perform heavy work such as running a compactor and jackhammer.
  • Must reside within a twenty-mile radius from the district office within 90 days of start date.
