Overview
The Combination Welder is responsible for prioritizing safety in daily work routines while using various welding methods to construct and maintain high- and low-pressure vessels, pipeline systems, and related equipment under general supervision.
Responsibilities
- Use oxyacetylene, electric welding, and heat fusion methods for joining operations.
- Lay out, measure, cut, fit, and prepare materials for joining.
- Perform maintenance and repair of distribution piping and equipment.
Requirements
- High school education or equivalent.
- Minimum of six months progressive experience in pipefitting work.
- At least one year of training and experience in welding in the gas or related utility industry.
- Ability to work from and complete legible construction drawings.
- Familiarity with hazards involved in welding and fusing in the presence of gas vapors.
- Completion of a course at a Cascade Natural Gas Corporation welding and fusion school.
- Valid first aid card required.
- Ability to qualify for and acquire a commercial driver's license.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States, no sponsorships considered.
- Subject to pre-employment drug testing and background checks.
- Ability to perform heavy work such as running a compactor and jackhammer.
- Must reside within a twenty-mile radius from the district office within 90 days of start date.
