Overview
The Stick/MIG Welder (Fabrication & Welding Technician) is responsible for cutting, fitting, welding, and assembling metal components for custom and production projects. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced fabrication environment.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders.
- Fabricate metal parts using steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
- Perform MIG welding.
- Cut, grind, fit, and finish metal components to specifications.
- Operate fabrication equipment such as saws, plasma cutters, grinders, and drill presses.
- Ensure weld quality, accuracy, and structural integrity.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow all safety procedures and OSHA guidelines.
- Work independently or as part of a team to meet production deadlines.
Requirements
- Previous experience in metal fabrication and welding.
- Proficiency with MIG welding (TIG and Stick a plus).
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
- Fabrication shop experience.
- Welding certifications (or ability to obtain).
- Experience with custom, short-run, or production fabrication.
- Forklift or crane experience.
