Overview
A theatrical scenery shop is seeking an experienced and highly skilled shop Welder/Fabricator to join their team.
Responsibilities
- Operate a CNC plasma machine.
- Perform wire feed (MIG) welding for steel and TIG welding for aluminum.
- Notch and bend tubing and fabricate off-road vehicles.
- Read drawings and create layouts (GIGS) and generate cut lists.
- Operate steel bender, roller, iron worker, plasma cutter, shear, and break.
- Lead projects from simple renderings when necessary.
Requirements
- Experience operating a CNC plasma machine.
- Proficient in wire feed (MIG) welding for steel and TIG welding for aluminum.
- Ability to notch and bend tubing and fabricate off-road vehicles.
- Must be able to work long and flexible hours, including weekends.
- Must have a working knowledge of industry standard shop tools.
- Candidates must have their own helmet, gloves, and safety goggles.
- Must be able to handle a fast-paced environment.
- A work history in film, television, theatrical scenery, and exhibit fabrication fields is a plus.
