Responsibilities
- Performs various welding operations on a variety of parts or products.
- Sets up, adjusts, and operates machines.
- Selects electrodes and regulates current settings, time, and pressure.
- Performs preliminary assembly of parts to be welded.
- Spot welds on a variety of parts and products.
- Cleans and inspects weld joints.
- Handles and positions work with or without the use of fixtures.
- Follows prescribed procedures to obtain proper fusion, strength, and finish to avoid distortion or burning.
- Sets up and operates hand and machine burning equipment.
- Spaces number of welds to meet varying conditions and materials.
- Works from engineering drawings, work orders, work instructions, and process specifications.
- Uses Miller and Weldlogic TIG welding machines to perform TIG, tack, and resistive tack and laser welding operations.
- Welds metal objects together using an oxyacetylene torch or arc welder apparatus.

Additional Information
- Employee is regularly exposed to noise, vibration, mechanical hazards, and electrical hazards.
- Employee may be required to wear personal protective equipment appropriate to welding job.
- Employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Job may require overtime and 2nd or 3rd shift assignments.
