Overview

The Team Lead-Weld position involves assisting with training, ensuring quality checks, supporting lean manufacturing, and maintaining a clean working environment. The role requires effective communication and coordination with maintenance and production teams to ensure safe and timely production.

Responsibilities

• Assist with department training plan and cross training efforts.
• Ensure quality checks and paperwork are complete before product leaves department.
• Support lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.
• Assist with 5S improvements and visual factory improvements.
• Maintain a clean working environment with open aisles and good housekeeping.
• Highlight critical issues to the Operations management team.
• Communicate daily relevant information to Value Stream Leaders.
• Inform maintenance of work orders and coordinate maintenance activities.
• Ensure safe and timely production by utilizing people, equipment, and material effectively.
• Assist the Value Stream Leader with employee activities, including evaluations and discipline.
• Identify and correct unsafe acts or conditions.
• Assist employees with diagnosing malfunctions in machinery and equipment.
• Participate in Gemba and prepare LDMS board as needed.
• Assist with the creation and update of standard work instructions.
• Work in the department as needed, up to 80% of the time.
• Act as a certified First Responder when trained.
• Apply ISO-9000 system procedures and ensure compliance.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• 2+ years in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as policies and procedures.
• Ability to communicate verbally with co-workers.
• Ability to lead and direct the work of others.
• Ability to work as a team member to achieve company objectives.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of employee information.
