UTLX, part of the global industrial organization Marmon Holdings and backed by Berkshire Hathaway, is seeking Car Repairman I applicants for its full-service rail tank car repair shop in Evanston, WY. Responsibilities
- Welds components related to tank cars including tanks, bolsters, underframes, and side sills.
- Performs welded repairs using air arc cutting torch and stick or wire welding equipment.
- Uses hand tools and equipment to chip and grind weld, slag, or spatter.
- Repairs, straightens, removes, and reworks car parts, brakes, underframes, center plates, gears, couplers, and valves using various hand and power tools.
- Performs welding and mechanical repairs to tank and hopper cars when required.
- Maintains work area in a neat and orderly manner and reports potential hazards.
Requirements
- Basic welding experience is a plus.
- Must have a High School Diploma or GED or be willing to take a skills test.
- Demonstrate job-related computational knowledge, such as reading a ruler.
