Legacy Talent Search is currently seeking candidates for a Box Welder position in Vancouver. Our client is a well-established industry leader known for innovation and a commitment to delivering the highest quality products.
Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality welding on box structures, frames, and fabricated assemblies using MIG and other applicable processes.
- Fabricate and weld box tubing, plate, and structural components to specification.
- Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and technical drawings.
- Measure, cut, fit, and assemble components prior to welding.
- Set up welding equipment and adjust machine settings based on material type and thickness.
- Ensure proper alignment, squareness, and structural integrity of box assemblies.
- Inspect completed welds for strength, accuracy, and conformance to specifications.
- Grind, clean, and finish welds as required.
- Maintain clean and organized workstations, tools, and welding equipment.
- Collaborate with fabrication and assembly teams to meet daily production targets.
- Follow all safety guidelines and wear appropriate PPE to maintain a safe work environment.
- Accurately document work completed, material usage, and any defects or issues encountered.
- Assist with routine maintenance of welding and fabrication equipment.
- Perform high-quality TIG and MIG welding on aluminum components, assemblies, and products.
- Set up welding equipment, select appropriate filler materials, and adjust machine settings for aluminum welding.
- Participate in routine maintenance and cleaning of welding equipment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in welding preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in structural or fabrication welding, especially box welding or tubing.
- Proficiency with MIG welding; flux-core experience is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding symbols.
- Experience working with mild steel, structural steel, and fabricated assemblies.
- Strong understanding of fit-up, squaring, and dimensional accuracy.
- Familiarity with fabrication tools such as grinders, saws, and measuring instruments.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to produce clean, consistent welds.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to work swing shift hours, including occasional weekends as needed.
- 2+ years of TIG and MIG welding experience with a strong focus on aluminum.
- Familiarity with common welding tools, measuring instruments, and safety practices.
