Black Hills Energy is a purpose-driven utility company that serves over one million customers across the West and Midwest. The Welder Operations position involves performing welding activities for the gas distribution system while ensuring safety and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates proficient welding skills in the fabrication of materials for the gas distribution system.
• Performs stopping, hot tapping, and by-passing of steel and polyethylene pipelines.
• Follows company safety policy and training procedures to ensure safety.
• Installs and maintains the gas distribution system in compliance with company policies.
• Conducts inspection duties and completes required documentation.
• Operates and maintains construction equipment, vehicles, and tools.
• Completes recordkeeping associated with construction and maintenance operations.
• Resolves customer complaints to ensure satisfaction and promotes company services.
• Achieves and maintains all Operator Qualifications applicable to the job classification.
• May work non-traditional hours and provide emergency response after hours.
• Carries a company-provided cell phone and is available to respond during all hours.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year of welder operations or relevant experience.
• Achieve company welding certification within 6 months of hire.
• Obtain a Class A CDL within 12 months of hire.
• Must hold and maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets company standards.
