Overview
The Laser Welding Associate will be an integral part of a growing production team at a fast-moving company. The role requires a motivated individual with experience in various welding techniques, particularly laser welding, to operate advanced robotic and handheld laser welders.
Responsibilities
- Set up fixtures for various component assemblies and operate the Amada FLW robotic welder.
- Set up fixtures for various component assemblies and operate the IPG handheld laser welder.
- Work to a daily schedule and load various welding programs for the production parts required.
- Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures.
- Set up components for welding according to specifications.
- Align components using fixtures and clamping devices.
- Test and inspect welded surfaces and structures to discover flaws.
- Use precision measuring instruments to ensure accuracy of finished products.
- Perform spot inspections of parts.
- Conduct daily inspections to verify all parts meet blueprint specifications and quality tolerance.
- Perform necessary rework and minor repairs on non-conforming parts.
- Ensure that established production, set-up, and quality standards are met.
- Keep accurate counts of production parts run through machinery and report on appropriate paperwork.
- Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean work area.
- Perform routine maintenance on machines to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Assist with preventative, minor, and major maintenance functions on production machinery.
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues and improve processes.
- Assist in the training of other fabrication staff on machinery operation and safety.
