Overview

The Welder/Mechanic/Machinist is responsible for maintaining Marion walking draglines and assisting in the repair of mobile equipment and coal processing facilities. The role requires performing welding duties on various mine equipment and involves working in challenging environmental conditions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain Marion walking draglines.
• Assist in mobile equipment and coal processing facilities repair.
• Perform welding duties on all mine equipment including coal haulers and track type earthmovers.
• Work at heights on elevated boom points and tri-structures of draglines.
• Repair and overhaul heavy, open and enclosed gear systems for draglines.
• Troubleshoot lubrication systems.
• Be available for multiple shifts and call-outs on a 24-hour basis.

Requirements

• Dragline mechanical repair experience or equivalent.
• Ability to pass an established weld test.
• Strong working mechanical knowledge for dragline heavy gear box repair and overhauls.
• Understanding of work-related safety practices.
• Physically capable of working at heights above 50 feet.
• Able to perform heavy lifting of 50 lbs. or more.
• Capable of working in confined areas and awkward positions.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
