Responsibilities

• Lay out, position, align, and fit together fabricated parts of structural metal products according to customer plans and drawings.
• Study specifications and blueprints to determine materials required.
• Select equipment and plan layout, assembly, and welding using knowledge of geometry and welding techniques.
• Bolt, clamp, and tack-weld parts to secure them in position for welding.
• Assemble and fit metal sections and plates to form sub-units for welding or bolting.
• Rig, hoist, and move materials within the work-site.
• Setup and operate heavy metal-working machines to cut, shape, bend, and form the metal.
• Install fabricated components in final products.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience working in the field.
• Ability to recognize distortion caused by welding.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds, climb, bend, twist, stand, and reach repetitively.
• Must be able to work in hot, cold, damp, and cramped environments.
• Background check and drug screen based on job location/requirements.
• Must be able to work up to 200 feet.
