Overview
We are seeking a skilled and energetic Welder/Fabricator to join our dynamic manufacturing and construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating, welding, and assembling metal components with precision and efficiency, contributing to the creation of high-quality structures and custom metal projects while adhering to safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine project requirements.
- Perform MIG, TIG, FCAW welding with accuracy and consistency.
- Use hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, press brake machines, and machining equipment for fabrication tasks.
- Measure materials precisely with calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments to ensure proper fit and finish.
- Fabricate metal components from sheet metal, pipe threading, ductwork, and structural elements following ASME codes & standards.
- Operate rigging equipment and forklifts safely for material handling and assembly processes.
- Execute assembly of fabricated parts according to schematics while maintaining mechanical integrity.
- Conduct quality checks using basic math skills and schematics review to verify dimensions and weld quality.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols during welding, cutting, machining, and assembly activities.
Requirements
- Proven construction site experience or manufacturing background involving metal fabrication.
- Proficiency in MIG welding, TIG welding, FCAW welding techniques; experience with <LOCATION> welding preferred.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately.
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, plasma cutting equipment, press brake machines, and machining tools.
- Knowledge of rigging procedures, pipe threading, ductwork fabrication, and assembly processes.
- Strong mechanical knowledge complemented by basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
- Experience operating forklifts or other heavy machinery is a plus.
- Ability to work safely in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Valid certifications in welding (such as AWS certification) are highly desirable.
