Overview
Pratt & Whitney is seeking a Welder I for the Weekend Shift to join their team in North Berwick, Maine. This role involves planning and performing welding tasks to fabricate or repair parts, contributing to the transformation of aerospace manufacturing.
Responsibilities
- Plan and perform hand fusion, machine welding or other associated metal joining processes.
- Work from drawings, sketches, welding machine schedules, and verbal and written instructions.
- Make required settings to equipment and gas flow to obtain quality welds.
- Prepare parts for welding, align and secure details.
- Operate computer-controlled welding equipment and manipulate hand welding torch.
- Utilize X-Ray film or black light process to determine extent of repairs required.
- Use measuring instruments to check dimensions and record results.
- Perform routine servicing throughout the assigned area following specified procedures.
- Refer difficult problems to supervisor or working leader.
- Maintain appropriate metal joining certifications.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED.
- 1+ years of related experience or a completed degree/certificate from a post-secondary or vocational school in a related field.
- Certification and maintenance of welding certification in a minimum of two metal groups preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
- Excellent computer skills.
- Flexibility around shifts, including overtime.
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously.

Additional Information
- Weekend Shift: Friday-Sunday, 6am-6:30pm, work 36 hours and get paid for 40 hours.
- Onsite role.
