Overview

The Welder II position at RTX is designed for individuals with proven TIG welding experience in a manufacturing environment. This role focuses on performing advanced welding operations with limited supervision while ensuring adherence to quality standards and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate proficiency in TIG welding tasks with minimal supervision to meet quality and production standards.
• Learn and operate automatic and manual welding machines according to specifications.
• Perform cleaning operations after welding to maintain production quality.
• Inspect and check dimensions using precision gauges and measuring instruments.
• Learn alloy and assembly operations necessary for furnace operations.
• Operate CNC equipment as required to complete welding processes.
• Perform non-production welds and support the development of specialized welding tasks.
• Accurately read and interpret blueprints and specification sheets.
• Complete production documentation with accuracy.
• Support and adhere to all rules, guidelines, and standards set by EHS, Quality, and CI functions.
• Participate in Continuous Improvement processes to enhance production efficiency and safety.
• Work extended shifts or overtime hours as required by business needs.

Requirements

• Typically requires a HS Diploma or vocational/technical education in related discipline.
• Minimum of 3 years of proven TIG welding experience in a manufacturing environment.
