Overview

At Freeport-McMoRan, the Boilermaker Welder I position involves performing assembly, maintenance, and repair of boilers and pressure vessels in a collaborative and safety-focused environment. The Safford operations, established in 2007, is recognized for its sustainable practices and commitment to safety.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties related to assembly, maintenance, and repair of boilers, pressure vessels, tanks and vats using various welding processes.
• Perform routine maintenance activities.
• Develop solutions for various maintenance situations.
• Complete Work Orders and other maintenance documentation.
• Train and mentor maintenance employees.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

• Two years of experience in the crafts of Welder/Boilermaker or a combination of education and experience.
• Proficiency in welding/cutting.
• Completion of academic and practical competencies required.
• Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions in English.
• Ability to communicate in English regarding job assignments, procedures, and safety standards.
