Overview
We are seeking skilled and experienced Journeyman Welders for a long-term project in Louisville, KY. These positions offer competitive pay and are open to both local candidates and travelers from anywhere in the continental U.S.
Responsibilities
- Plan, lay out, weld, install, test, and repair piping systems.
- Interpret blueprints, specifications, and welding codes.
- Fit piping and perform precision welds independently.
- Assemble piping systems according to production and safety standards.
- Perform welding repairs and correct substandard welds.
- Coordinate with field crews and assist with prefabrication.
- Operate equipment such as grinders, air arc gougers, and stress relief tools.
- Assist with rigging and material handling.
- Inspect work to ensure compliance with plans and specifications.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a journeyman welder or related field.
- Strong knowledge of welding techniques, codes, and standards.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
- Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and measurement tools.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with supervision.
- Ability to pass RMD weld test.
- Must pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.
- Must have required tools.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work at heights (ladders, scaffolds, lifts up to 200 ft).
- Comfort working in confined spaces and industrial environments.
- Ability to work outdoors in changing weather conditions.
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.
