Overview
The Welder position requires candidates with torch operations experience and at least 2 years of stick welding experience. The role involves completing welding projects professionally and efficiently while adhering to safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Complete welding projects for clients in a timely professional manner.
- Assist in selecting and procuring the right material and equipment needed for welding, measuring and aligning workpieces.
- Assist in evaluating welding procedures and recommending improvements.
- Effectively use a variety of hand, power, bench tools, and measuring devices.
- Obtain required configurations and positions.
- Setup, change and troubleshoot welding processes, welding perimeters, gas flow, and regulations.
- Monitor the fitting, burning, and welding processes to avoid warping and shrinkage.
- Assist other team members as needed.
- Repair lines/leads if damaged.
Requirements
- Eligible to work in the U.S.
- 2 years stick welding experience.
- Torch Operations experience.
- TWIC card required.
- Experience in various welding rods/stick (60-series and 70-series) welding.
- Consent for a pre-employment drug test screening.
- A great attitude when dealing with coworkers and customers.
- Ability to work Saturday/Sunday as required based on business needs.
- Ability to travel to various locations for projects.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions (extreme heat).
- Maritime Industry experience preferred.
- Ability to pass welding test (3G,4G) via stick according to AWS D1.1 and Arc Marine Welding Procedures.
- Operational knowledge of hand tools and power tools.
- Ability to read and understand drawings, blueprints and instructions.
- Ability to climb up to 60ft.
- Ability to lift 50lbs.
- Willingness to learn equipment usage and troubleshoot minor issues.
- Ability to comprehend verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to follow standard safety standards.
