Overview
The Carpenter Fabricator - Millwork position involves fabricating custom cabinetry and commercial millwork based on specifications from shop drawings. The role requires proficiency in various materials and tools, reporting to the shop production manager.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements.
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, plywood, and wallboard.
- Build cabinets, doors, windows, frames, and other wooden structures.
- Install structures and fixtures such as windows, molding, trim, stairs, and hardware.
- Select appropriate tools and materials for each project.
- Identify, select and install cabinetry hardware such as rails, pulls, and hinges.
- Follow established safety rules and regulations.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Carpenter.
- Proficient in construction painting, masonry, plumbing, schematics reading, and power tools usage.
- Familiarity with hand tools such as saws, chisels, planes, levels, and sanders.
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
- Excellent understanding of carpentry techniques and methods.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor tasks.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
