Overview
The Welder at Texas Disposal Systems performs welding tasks to repair and maintain containers both on- and off-site, ensuring safety and assisting maintenance personnel as needed.
Responsibilities
- Perform welding tasks repairing and maintaining containers.
- Work on- and off-site in a safe manner.
- Assist maintenance personnel when required.
Requirements
- Must pass a pulmonary function test if required by work assignment.
- Passage of the company welding test.
- Must be able to obtain any welding certificates needed for tasks or projects.
- Familiarity with shop equipment such as drill press, cranes, grinders, and saws.
- Demonstrate an understanding of metal welding theory and practices.
- At least one year of maintenance welding experience including the use of arc, MIG, and stick welders, plasma cutter, and acetylene equipment.
- Aluminum welding experience.
- High school diploma or its equivalent.
- Forklift experience.
- Valid Class C driver’s license.
- Safe driving for the last three years.
- Forklift certification by company within 90 days of employment.
