Leviton is a company with over 115 years of history that develops solutions for lighting, power, and connectivity. The TIG Welder position involves high-precision welding on aluminum components, requiring attention to detail and technical skills.
Responsibilities
- Review drawings, blueprints, and layout plans to determine material and component requirements.
- Set up materials and equipment for welding and fabrication according to specifications.
- Operate TIG welding equipment and related tools, including arc welders, grinders, and buffing machines.
- Perform TIG welding on aluminum parts following provided instructions and technical drawings.
- Inspect welds for quality, accuracy, and penetration.
- Test welded products to ensure functionality and adherence to standards.
- Follow all shop safety procedures, welding best practices, and quality guidelines.
- Identify faulty equipment or defective materials and assist in resolving issues.
- Maintain welding equipment in proper working condition.
- Keep workstations clean and safe, adhering strictly to safety protocols related to heat, sparks, and welding processes.
Requirements
- Proficiency in TIG welding techniques and knowledge of various welding positions.
- Ability to work with different metals and alloys, including thin or complex materials.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, welding codes, and technical drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and precision in executing welds.
- Good manual dexterity and ability to safely handle welding tools and materials.
- Ability to multitask and adapt effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 2 years of TIG welding experience with aluminum materials.
- Professional welding certification preferred.
Additional Information
- The position works out of the IDP facility in Pembroke Park, Florida.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to handle heavy materials and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Able to work in an environment where noise levels may be higher due to machinery/equipment usage.
