Overview
The CNC Operator is responsible for setting up and operating CNC machines to fabricate kitchen cabinets, ensuring quality control and adherence to specifications. The role requires strong problem-solving skills, effective communication, and a commitment to safety in a team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities
- Set up CNC machines by loading tools, fixtures, and materials.
- Verify machine settings and program parameters before cutting.
- Operate CNC machines to produce production parts and assemblies.
- Recognize different material types.
- Identify worn tooling and necessary machine changes.
- Verify quality of completed products or batches.
- Inspect quality control rigorously.
- Report defective materials, discrepancies, or process malfunctions to the manager.
- Operate manual machines such as table saws and bench drill presses.
- Use hand-held, electrical, and pneumatic tools.
- Utilize precision measuring tools as required.
- Complete necessary paperwork, including in-process production sheets.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area and equipment.
- Follow safety regulations and perform basic machine maintenance.
- Demonstrate solid problem-solving skills and decision-making under pressure.
- Communicate effectively and work collaboratively in a team.
- Work flexible hours.
- Commit to safety protocols and maintaining a safe work environment.
- Maintain physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
Requirements
- Experience as a CNC Operator.
- Proficient in machine setup, tool changes, offsets, and program adjustments.
- Knowledge of G-code programming is a plus.
- Understanding of machining principles, tool selection, and CNC machine operation.
- Ability to troubleshoot CNC machines independently.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Ability to drive a forklift.
- Friendly and positive attitude.
- Familiarity with Excel, Mozaik, AutoCAD, and bSolid.
