Overview

Garrett Brown Designs (GBD) is a leading fabricator of custom furniture, architectural millwork, and casework for various spaces across the United States. They are seeking an experienced metal welder to join their skilled team in the welding department.

Responsibilities

• Work with and weld steel and aluminum.
• Perform MIG welding, preferably with furniture and high-end projects.
• Use various shop equipment including saws, shears, TIG and MIG welding machines, dial calipers, grinders, and polishing equipment.
• Color and finish metal.
• Read shop/detail drawings.
• Utilize strong math skills.
• Work independently and communicate effectively with team members.
• Stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Occasionally work on different job sites in the field.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in a professional woodworking or fabrication shop.
• Strong technical understanding of custom furniture and/or millwork production.
• Proven ability to read drawings, cut lists, and production documents.
• Valid, active driver’s license.
• MIG welding experience.
• Experience managing or leading a team of 5+ employees is preferred.
• Installation experience is preferred.
• Familiarity with metal fabrication processes is preferred.
• Experience coordinating labor hours against project budgets is preferred.
