Overview
Lakeshore Talent is hiring skilled Metal Fabricators for Merritt Trailers, a leading trailer manufacturing client in Henderson, CO. This role involves building high-quality metal components and assemblies using welding, machining, forming, and mechanical assembly techniques.
Responsibilities
- Perform MIG and/or TIG welding on steel and aluminum components.
- Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and engineering drawings.
- Prepare materials by cutting, grinding, and cleaning surfaces.
- Inspect welds for quality, strength, and accuracy.
- Operate CNC machines, laser cutters, or waterjets as needed.
- Load programs, monitor machine performance, and make adjustments.
- Maintain tight tolerances and geometric accuracy.
- Perform basic machine setup and routine maintenance.
- Set up and operate press brake equipment to bend and form metal.
- Select and install tooling, adjust stroke depth and pressure.
- Perform multiple bends and ensure dimensional accuracy.
- Assemble trailer components using blueprints and work instructions.
- Fasten parts using bolts, rivets, huck guns, and other hardware.
- Drill, align, and fit components to ensure proper assembly.
- Inspect completed assemblies for quality and accuracy.
- Use hand and power tools (grinders, drills, saws, etc.).
- Measure parts using precision tools (calipers, tape measures, gauges).
- Perform quality checks and document work as required.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and production standards.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production goals.
Requirements
- 2+ years of metal fabrication, welding, or manufacturing experience preferred.
- Experience with MIG and/or TIG welding.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Experience with CNC machines and/or press brake equipment.
- Proficiency with hand tools and fabrication equipment.
- Ability to use precision measuring tools.
- Ability to perform basic shop math (fractions, decimals, conversions).
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to pass pre-employment screening.
