Overview
Drop Works is an established custom fabrication and scenic building firm in the Bay Area, seeking full-time fabricator/installers with experience in set building, trade show booths, and custom fabrication for retail build-outs and activations. The company has been a leader in the industry for over 25 years, operating a large fabrication shop and commercial photo studio in Vallejo, CA.
Responsibilities
- Perform carpentry-based custom fabrication for activations and scenic architecture.
- Logistics, transport, and installation of custom fabricated elements and sets.
- Complete various fabrication projects for commercial customers and private events.
- Work collaboratively in small teams under tight deadlines.
Requirements
- 5+ years of finish carpentry/custom fabrication experience.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks such as crouching, pulling, bending, kneeling, climbing, and reaching.
- Significant knowledge in the safe use of professional power tools used in a carpentry shop.
- Ability to read and accurately fabricate and install builds from drawings and plans.
- Strong mathematical ability for accuracy in measuring, fabricating, and installing.
- Consistent attendance and punctuality.
- Professional communication and demeanor with clients and colleagues.
- Strong written, oral, and interpersonal skills.
- Team-oriented and self-starting approach.
- Ability to work independently and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliable transportation for offsite work.
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
- Ability to build and maintain good working relationships.
- Willingness to expand and improve skills.
- Detail-oriented.
- Ability to drive a 24’ box truck is a plus.

Additional Information
- Self-transport is required as employees may start work at offsite locations.
- Early mornings, possible travel, evenings, weekends, and overtime are part of the role.
- Immediate full-time employment (40 hours per week plus overtime as needed).
