Overview
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Mechanic’s Assistant with welding experience to support maintenance and repair operations in a manufacturing environment. This role assists senior mechanics with machinery installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and welding-related tasks.
Responsibilities
- Assist senior mechanics with maintenance, repair, and overhaul of manufacturing equipment.
- Perform basic to intermediate welding tasks (MIG, TIG, stick) for repairs and fabrication.
- Support preventive maintenance programs to reduce downtime.
- Help with disassembly, inspection, cleaning, and reassembly of mechanical components.
- Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment.
- Report mechanical issues to supervisors or senior mechanics.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Experience as a mechanic’s helper or maintenance assistant.
- Practical welding experience in industrial or manufacturing settings.
- Basic knowledge of mechanical systems (preferred).
- Familiarity with safety practices and PPE.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and work in industrial conditions.
