Overview

Responsibilities

• Plans details of work order procedures and gathers required tools and materials based on instructions.
• Repairs and fabricates various items and equipment using cutting, burning, and welding techniques.
• Monitors the welding, burning, and fitting process to prevent overheating or damage.
• Prepares, assembles, and tacks weld parts and surfaces to be welded.
• Maintains, organizes, and cleans equipment and the work area.
• Notifies supervisor of faulty equipment or defective materials.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Completion of a formal apprenticeship or successful completion of a three-year in-company training program required.
• Thorough understanding of machines and tools used in welding.
• Basic understanding of design techniques, principles, and tools for producing technical plans.
• Excellent ability to read and listen to assignments in various forms.
• Basic understanding of mathematics as related to welding assignments.
• 1 year of welding experience preferred.

Additional Information

• Full-time position with expected hours of 40 per week.
• Work location is in person in San Diego, CA 92154.
• Relocation before starting work is required.
• 8 hour day shift.
