Overview

Vanport is seeking an experienced pipefitter with plate welding skills for shipboard and industrial projects. The company specializes in topside marine repair, metal fabrication, and industrial services, serving the PNW, CA, AK, and HI.

Responsibilities

• Installs and repairs shipboard piping systems following blueprints and layouts.
• Cuts, bends, welds, brazes, grinds, and burns pipes for installation.
• Inspects and tests piping systems for leaks and compliance with specifications.
• Operates pipe threading machines and pipe benders.
• Repairs, packs, and adjusts valves.
• Reads blueprints and spool sheets to identify pipe system locations.
• Performs rigging as applicable to pipe and valve systems.
• Conducts welding and associated tasks for prefabrication and repairs.

Requirements

• High school or equivalent education preferred.
• Minimum three years of experience preferred.
• Knowledge of basic marine piping systems and blueprint reading.
• Ability to perform marine pipefitting and follow exact tolerances.
• Must be able to work at heights and in confined spaces.
• Must comprehend written and verbal instructions in English.
• Able to work independently and in a team environment.
• Welding/proficiency test will be conducted prior to hire.

Additional Information

• Standard work hours are Monday – Friday, 6:00am – 2:30pm.
• Year-round employment.
• Travel Crews receive Per Diem and overtime work.
