Overview
Saulsbury Industries is seeking a CWI Quality Inspector for a full-time position in the Permian Basin / West Texas. The role involves inspecting materials and equipment to ensure compliance with specifications and generating reports on inspection activities.
Responsibilities
- Promote and comply with all Company safety policies and procedures.
- Inspect and ensure the quality of work performed during the daily activities of the overall construction on a 12-mile pipeline project.
- Have a working knowledge of the code(s) of construction being used for the project.
- Demonstrate good organizational, planning and time management skills.
- Conduct daily activities in a highly organized manner to ensure all QC data are properly and accurately recorded.
- Daily monitoring and recording of all work as required by the Quality Inspection Test Plan (QITP).
- Prevent deficiencies while working closely with field operating teams, through pre-construction quality control inspections.
- Detect deficiencies and address deficiencies in a timely and effective manner.
- Inspect the work and establish punch lists.
- Ensure daily quality task schedules are met to meet the project schedule.
- Work closely with the Client and field quality staff acting as their field representative ensuring construction understands and follows the QA/QC requirements.
- Interface with field supervision to maintain an open line of communication.
- Interact cross-functionally with craft personnel and other team members.
- Maintain complete and accurate records during inspections.
- Determine the calibration status of measuring and test equipment.
- Maintain a professional appearance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Graduate or equivalent (GED) plus 3-5 years’ experience in the Construction Trades.
- Inspection related certifications, CWI and NACE II required.
- Per Diem provided to candidates residing outside 50 miles of project site.
- Must be a self-starter, organized and have good interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to use inspection tools such as Gal-Gauge, Pick Gauge, Hi-Lo gauge, and Filler Gauge.
- Must be able to read/interpret ISO, P&ID’s and able to Red-Line ISO.
- Read, analyze, and interpret engineering drawings and technical procedures.
- Required exposure to civil, electrical, mechanical, pipeline/oil/gas, industrial and welding activities.
- Ability to independently perform work such as Piping system walkdown, structural walkdown, and Civil inspections.
- Write daily reports and document project activities.
- Effectively collect and record field data to ensure activities conform to corporate Quality Control procedures.
- Ability to solve problems individually and in a team setting.
