Overview

The Boilermaker Tech II role involves performing maintenance boilermaker and welding tasks on various equipment and projects. ASARCO LLC emphasizes safety and environmental responsibility in its operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance boilermaker/welding tasks on Shovels and Drills, Fleet trucks, and project repairs.
• Analyze welding procedures for specific metallurgical properties.
• Identify materials and adjust welding according to material.
• Design, layout, fabricate, and analyze metal failures and repairs.
• Fabricate, fit, and weld materials from blueprints and drawings.
• Operate hand and power tools.
• Use measuring tools and shop support equipment like forklifts and cranes.
• Follow instructions and directions with minimal supervision.
• Understand and practice all safety procedures.

Requirements

• Ability to perform MIG and TIG welding, air arc, and wire feed welding.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints.
• Ability to meet physical demands in a challenging work environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills for consensus building.
• Good communication skills (oral and written).
• Ability to manage time effectively and set priorities.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Technical School or one to two years related experience and/or state approved apprenticeship.
• Boilermaker/Welder (Vertical and Overhead Welding) Certification required.
