Overview
The Welder role involves performing welding activities independently, interpreting technical data, and ensuring compliance with quality standards. The position requires maintaining production standards and adhering to safety regulations.
Responsibilities
- Perform welding activities following written instructions.
- Interpret drawings and technical data for repairs.
- Prepare parts for welding by grinding, machining, and sanding.
- Document travelers after operations performed.
- Maintain production standards and quality.
- Ensure compliance with Company IPM/QPM and ISO quality requirements.
- Use calibrated instruments and tooling for critical measurements.
- Operate various types of welding machines as required.
- Operate oxy-acetylene torch for cutting, brazing, welding, and soldering.
- Operate spot welder.
- Maintain certification required for welding applicable alloy.
- Comply with regulatory, customer, and safety requirements.
- Pass an Eye Examination specifically for welders.
- Implement continuous improvement and lean principles.
- Maintain department safety and housekeeping standards.
- Ensure compliance with Quality Management Systems (QMS).
- Adhere to and promote Corporate Code of Ethical Standards.
Requirements
- Ability to perform qualification welds on 0.040” thick materials in accordance with AWS D17.1.
- Ability to read, write, and understand English.
- Ability to accurately interpret blueprints and work in-process documents.
- Self-motivated with a high level of ownership and accountability.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Ability to perform frequent lifting, pulling, and pushing.
