Overview

Airgas is hiring a Welder Repair Technician in Waterford, CT, responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing welding equipment for Airgas and its customers. The company values diversity and aims to create an inclusive workplace.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical, mechanical, and control functionality of welding equipment.
• Repair engine drives, inverters, transformers, and automation equipment.
• Maintain an inventory of parts and supplies and track all work hours for customer billing.
• Travel to customer sites to diagnose and resolve technical needs.
• Facilitate routine/preventative maintenance and deliver NIST traceable calibration.
• Ensure all service requests are fulfilled in an organized manner.
• Steward company-provided diagnostic equipment and tools.
• Maintain a database of calibration and PM schedules.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 2 years of prior related electrical and/or electronics repair experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Intermediate knowledge of Google suite applications and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to plan a logical approach to troubleshooting and repairing equipment.
• Demonstrated knowledge of basic math operations and ability to compute rates and ratios.
• Ability to read and comprehend manuals, schematics, and instructions.
• Self-starter; self-motivated; ability to work independently and under pressure.
• Regularly required to move up to 60 pounds and transport up to 800 pounds with equipment.
• Frequent local travel (85% of work time) and flexible hours required.
• Must have reliable transportation and valid US driver’s license.
• Prior experience using SAP preferred.
• Ability to operate a forklift.
