Job Description

Overview

MFCP (Motion & Flow Control Products, Inc.) is the largest Parker Hannifin distributor and the premier unrivaled leader in motion and flow control solutions. The Welder Fabricator is responsible for layout, welding, cutting, and fabrication of structural and pipe components associated with hydraulic systems.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in all aspects of the HPU system build process.
  • Melt and apply solder along adjoining edges of workpieces.
  • Examine seams for defects and rework defective joints or broken parts.
  • Melt and separate brazed or soldered joints to remove and straighten damaged components.
  • Clean workpieces to remove dirt or excess acid.
  • Guide torches and rods along joints of workpieces to heat them to brazing temperature.
  • Adjust electric current and timing cycles of resistance welding machines.
  • Clean equipment parts, such as tips of soldering irons.
  • Align and clamp workpieces together using hand tools.
  • Smooth soldered areas with paddles and torches.
  • Select torch tips, flux, and brazing alloys from data charts.
  • Clean joints of workpieces with wire brushes or cleaning solutions.
  • Grind, cut, buff, or bend edges of workpieces to ensure snug fit.
  • Cut carbon electrodes to specified sizes and shapes.
  • Develop, maintain, and share current and new product knowledge.
  • Provide technical resources for others in the organization.
  • Address and resolve customer requests, complaints, and objections.
  • Coordinate efforts with appropriate departments to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure high levels of customer service, ethics, and teamwork.

Requirements

  • Experience working with welding, fabrication, and hydraulic components.
  • Must understand measurement techniques and units including metric/SAE conversions.
  • Ability to read and understand hydraulic schematics.
  • Good mechanical aptitude to detect technical discrepancies.
  • Excellent oral communication and strong relationship building skills.
  • Detail oriented with solid organizational skills.
  • Understanding of the proper use of all repair tools and testing machinery.
  • Must supply basic hand tools.

Additional Information

  • Ability to lift to 70 lbs. occasionally and up to 50 lbs. frequently.
  • Work environment is primarily inside a workshop.
  • Occasional work completed in the field or underneath large equipment.
