Overview
The Welder at Ludwig Drilling LLC will utilize various welding techniques to weld and fabricate metal components as specified by blueprints, work orders, and/or oral instructions. This role is part of the Operations department and requires adherence to safety policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Execute work in accordance with company safety policies and safe work procedures.
- Perform oxy acetylene cutting as required.
- Utilize stick and MIG welding processes to weld milled steel.
- Fabricate materials/parts/components using blueprints.
- Prepare material for welding by cutting or grinding.
- Set material in stands, racks, hoists, etc. for welding.
- Buff and grind milled steel as needed.
- Properly utilize hand tools and welding equipment.
- Execute vertical and horizontal welding tasks.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements
- 5 years of experience in Construction/Drilling.
- 3 years of Welding/Fabrication experience (Required).
- 1 year of experience reading and building off of shop drawings (Required).
- Auger and Kelly Bar Welding Experience (Preferred).
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean MVR.
- OSHA 10 certification preferred.
- Ability to setup, layout and tack up various metals.
- Ability to meet safety standards in rigging procedures.
- Ability to read and understand maps, drawings and diagrams.
- Ability to communicate clearly with supervisors and co-workers.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment.
- Ability to learn and gain knowledge.
- Ability to follow work orders or receive instructions.
- Ability to work independently and establish priorities.
- Ability to work for extended periods in adverse weather conditions.
- Ability to work as part of a crew.
- Ability to focus on daily and weekly project goals.
- Ability to comply with OSHA and Company safety requirements.
- Ability to wear and utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting and climbing.

Additional Information
- Location: Castle Rock, Colorado.
- Status: Hourly (Non-Exempt)/At-Will.
- Compensation: $25.00 to $30.00 per hour based on applicable skillset and experience.
