Overview
The Welder position involves hand-welding components used to build Ring-O-Matic equipment, requiring the ability to read blueprints and perform mechanical assembly in a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Read information from blueprints, technical manuals, or other documents.
- Set up fixtures, mount parts in fixtures, and perform mechanical assembly using hand and air tools.
- Move and position parts, sometimes with a hoist and sometimes manually.
- Use a hoist to lift and position large, heavier components and completed weldments.
- Set up, adjust, and operate MIG welding equipment to weld machine components.
- Remove components from fixtures, clean and check them for quality, and correct errors or deficiencies of weldments.
- Maintain positive relationships with customers, clients, supervisors, and co-workers.
- Meet or exceed expectations for productivity, quality, attendance, and safety.
- Work in a safe manner by following safety guidelines.
Requirements
- Have appropriate MIG welding experience (3 years) or have completed a formal welding training program/certificate.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints.
- Skilled in reading tape measure.
- Be able to handle items weighing over 50 pounds.
- Have appropriate mechanical skills, including experience using hand and air-powered tools.
- Have a good work record with strong self-motivation and reliable attendance.
- Perform multiple tasks simultaneously and assess situations effectively.
