Overview

Vanmark Equipment is a custom stainless steel equipment manufacturing company serving the food industry. We are seeking an experienced Senior Welder/Fabricator with over 5 years of experience in welding and fabrication of stainless-steel parts and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform TIG/MIG welding and fabrication of custom stainless-steel equipment and parts using supplied engineered drawings and/or blueprints while holding tolerances.
• Perform welding, grinding, and finishing of tubing, sheet, and pipe to meet expectations.
• Set up and calibrate TIG and MIG welders with the correct welding program.
• Meet or exceed the requirements of the project through manual fabrication such as alignment, scribing, cutting/coping, grinding, polishing, tacking, and welding while maintaining established tolerances.
• Produce vacuum tight welds in hard-to-reach areas of chambers.
• Identify the proper order of fabrication and welding operations.
• Assemble equipment and manufactured parts using engineered drawings.

Requirements

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and engineered drawings.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Ability to interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, and ratios to practical situations.
• Ability to work with team members and provide leadership to lower-level welders.
• Knowledge and comfort with the use of hand tools such as saws, grinders, and drills.
• Familiarity with the effects of welding, grinding, and polishing on stainless steel.
• Solid knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerances.
• Ability to take direction from supervisors.
• Ability to meet or exceed job schedule timelines.
• Attention to detail while fabricating, welding, and reading engineered drawings.
• Ability to safely operate and use forklifts.
• Understanding and following all company safety policies, procedures, and work rules.
• Welding tests will be required.
