Overview

The Lead Sign Fabricator is responsible for the fabrication of custom electric signs, including various types such as pylons, monuments, and channel letters, ensuring they meet quality standards and timelines.

Responsibilities

  • Efficiently fabricate custom electric signs to meet quality standards.
  • Meet with project manager to review project details.
  • Read and follow drawings, build sheets, and materials lists.
  • Fabricate the sign structure using specified materials like steel or aluminum.
  • Use various tools such as saws, iron workers, and mig welders for fabrication.
  • Attach sheet metal skin using CNC routed parts and sheet metal stock.
  • Prepare sign for paint using fillers, sanders, and cleaners.
  • Paint sign parts using a Matthews Paint System and paint booth.
  • Wire the sign according to specifications, typically using LEDs.
  • Perform final assembly of the sign.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and perform routine maintenance on equipment.
  • Work well with coworkers.

Requirements

  • MIG welding experience.
  • Experience with RAS TurboBend Plus or other CNC sheet metal folders.
  • Ability to operate iron worker and sheet metal tools.
  • Familiarity with metalworking tools, saws, and various hand tools.
  • Forklift operation skills.
  • Painting skills.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Experience wiring electric signs.
