Overview

MasTec’s Clean Energy and Infrastructure Group (CE&I) is a $4 billion annual revenue business unit that provides construction services for various industrial facilities. The Combo Pipe Welder Journeyman will be responsible for joining metal components using multiple welding processes while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret project plans, blueprints, weld symbols, and other written instructions.
  • Follow project specifications and understand Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS).
  • Perform various welding processes including GTAW, SMAW, FACW, and GMAW.
  • Field install welds for structural components, duct work, and piping.
  • Select proper fillers for welding tasks based on specifications.
  • Prepare welding surfaces to achieve proper joint detail.
  • Assist pipe fitters with measurements and material preparation.
  • Communicate with Foreman regarding problems, materials, or hazards.
  • Work under production schedule pressure and attain accuracy standards.

Requirements

  • 4+ years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • High School Diploma or GED Certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of MIC Health and Safety programs and regulations.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules and procedure manuals.
  • Basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
  • Common sense understanding to carry out instructions.

Additional Information

  • Full-Time position typically scheduled for 50 hours per week.
  • Travel required up to 90% with presence directly on Project Site.
