Overview
The Welder Fabricator is responsible for laying out and fabricating metal weldments and assemblies based on work orders and material processes. The role requires familiarity with welding, fitting, and structural fabrication processes, as well as the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Lay out and fabricate metal weldments and assemblies.
- Execute work orders and process materials accordingly.
- Use drawings, specifications, and verbal instructions to plan and accomplish goals.
- Make fabricated products using hand tools, machine tools, and welding equipment.
- Check own work for quality and accuracy.
- Document progress and meet deadlines.
- Maintain a clean work area as required.
- Apply all applicable safety requirements.
Requirements
- Welding/fabrication/layout experience.
- Must own tools appropriate to the job.
- Ability to use tools and equipment related to the task.
- Fabrication skills including complicated layouts and check & straightening capabilities.
- Prefer AWS Certified Welder in Steel, Stainless, Aluminum and qualified in all positions.
- Ability to use measurement equipment to inspect own work.
- Must be able to rig and move heavy structures.
- Understand and interpret blueprints and drawings.
- Operate Fork Lift and Overhead Crane.
- Must be able to lift up to 75lbs.
- Pass weld test.
