Overview

The Ironworker position at ASR Group® involves assembling, installing, maintaining, and repairing complex layouts using various equipment. ASR Group® is the world’s largest refiner and marketer of cane sugar, operating multiple sugar refineries across North America and Europe.

Responsibilities

• Lays out major and difficult installations from blueprints, sketches, and specifications.
• Uses electric or gas welding equipment to work with steel, iron, or alloys used in the refinery.
• Instructs lower rated iron workers in the proper performance of their duties as required.
• Erects and removes hand rails, cat walks, building supports, and tank supports using various tools.
• Performs fabrication, erection, and removal of ducts and gutter pipes.
• Cuts, bends, and brazes copper pipe, and drives and bucks rivets.
• Carries out orders of Supervisors.

Requirements

• High school education or equivalent.
• 3-4 years experience in ironworking.
• Advanced knowledge of welding and fabrication principles.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and schematic drawings.
• Must be able to use iron worker’s tools and shop equipment.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
