Overview

ENTACT is a premier national provider of environmental, civil, and geotechnical construction services, actively seeking a motivated and experienced Structural Welder in the environmental remediation and geotechnical construction industry. The role involves performing various job tasks on hazardous and non-hazardous waste sites, with responsibilities including component fit-up, alignment, installation, and welding preparation.

Responsibilities

• Perform work safely in accordance with ENTACT safety policy and procedures.
• Maintain welder certification per customer and company procedure specifications.
• Set-up, troubleshoot and operate welding machines according to job specifications and welding procedures.
• Use structural welding tools and equipment for welding preparation and clean-up.
• Tack-weld components to secure them in position for welding.
• Familiar with equipment required to perform various welding processes.
• Perform front line examination of the welding work.
• Responsible for component installation, fit-up and alignment.
• Preheat and weld metal components as specified by blueprints.
• Make welding repairs and correct substandard welds.
• Verify position of metal components in assembly.
• Clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards.
• Work in confined spaces including permit required confined spaces.
• Assist with the preparation and review of Job Safety Analyses and other reports.
• Promote the use of Stop Work authority.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Ability to meet deadlines and contribute to a positive, safe, high-quality culture.

Requirements

• 1-3 years’ experience in welding in construction environments and/or environmental/remediation projects preferred.
• HS Diploma or equivalent.
• Certification from a recognized organization, such as the American Welding Society (AWS) preferred.
• HAZWOPER 40-hour training and current refresher.
• Valid state issued driver’s license preferred.

Additional Information

• Will require frequent and extended travel to project sites.
• Schedule M-F, occasional Saturdays.

• Full Time Pay: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour plus overtime, travel pay and per diem.
