Overview

The Composite Welder Operator position at Stanley Black & Decker involves setting up, operating, and maintaining equipment for welding processes in East Longmeadow, MA. The role requires a commitment to quality and safety while contributing to the production of bi-metal coil stock.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate and maintain sequential lines of equipment for welding.
• Mount coils of backing material using an overhead electric hoist.
• Perform spark tests to confirm material types and feed materials through various processes.
• Set up the welder and adjust parameters such as speed, voltage, and amperage.
• Inspect welded materials for quality using a microscope.
• Maintain equipment including ultrasonic cleaners and deburring rolls.
• Monitor operations and make necessary adjustments during welding.
• Follow all safety rules and practices.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
• 1-2 years of preferred experience in a related field.
• Knowledge of charts, specifications, and micrometers.
• Ability to use numbers including decimals.
• Light physical effort required, equivalent to lifting 5 to 25 pounds.
