Overview

The Utility Worker - Parks, Seasonal position involves performing maintenance, custodial, and construction tasks under the supervision of the Parks Crew Leader. The role includes operating various equipment and tools to maintain park facilities and ensure cleanliness.

Responsibilities

• Operate light duty vehicles, tractors, and various tools.
• Maintain and clean ball fields, buildings, playgrounds, and shelters.
• Assist in the maintenance and construction of roads, bridges, and other park facilities.
• Mow and trim grass on park property.
• Pick up litter and empty trash cans in the parks.
• Make and install signs for streets and park areas.
• Perform maintenance on equipment, tools, and vehicles.
• Maintain the swimming pool and tennis courts.
• Plant trees, flowers, and shrubs.
• Paint buildings and signs.
• Perform related tasks as required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Self-motivated and detail-oriented.
• Time management skills.
• Ability to work on ladders and lift heavy items.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Must pass drug screen by licensed physician.
• Certified or must become certified in 1st aid, CPR, and AED.
• Some understanding of basic construction or maintenance methods, materials, and equipment.

Additional Information

• Employee frequently works in outside weather conditions.
• Employee is often exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes, and loud noise.
• Must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift weights up to 100 pounds.
