Overview

The Welder Lead B supervises a group of hourly welders to ensure compliance with company quality and safety standards while adhering to production schedules. This role operates under the direction of plant management and focuses on cost-effective operations.

Responsibilities

  • Task and oversee hourly workers on daily assignments.
  • Complete time entry of hourly workers daily.
  • Monitor job activity of hourly workers, answering questions, giving guidance and resolving problems.
  • Assist management in determining work procedures, equipment and supply needs, and manpower requirements.
  • Select, supervise, instruct, and schedule employee work.
  • Monitor work processes and products to ensure quality and cost containment standards.
  • Ensure company equipment is properly handled, maintained, and secured.
  • Ensure and monitor compliance with safety rules and regulations by all employees.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of plant operations with emphasis on welding techniques and equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work objectives.
  • Ability to effectively plan work procedures, equipment, material, and manpower needs.
  • Ability to build and lead a productive work group and perform as a member of a management team.
  • Ability to effectively communicate.
  • Knowledge of State and Federal regulations related to safety, health, and environmental.
  • Familiarity with all company policies and procedures.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • At least 4 years of demonstrated experience in the position of Welder.
