Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated MIG Welder to join our dynamic fabrication team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing high-quality welding operations on various metal components, primarily utilizing Metal Inert Gas (MIG) welding techniques.
Responsibilities
- Execute MIG welding on sheet metal, ductwork, pipes, and structural components according to detailed blueprints and schematics.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and welding symbols to ensure accurate fabrication.
- Use hand tools, power tools, calipers, micrometers, and other measurement devices to verify dimensions and tolerances.
- Prepare materials by cleaning, cutting, and positioning parts for welding using plasma cutters, press brake machines, or other fabrication equipment.
- Maintain compliance with ASME codes & standards during welding processes to ensure safety and quality.
- Operate rigging equipment and forklifts as needed for material handling and positioning.
- Perform routine inspections of welds using visual checks and basic testing methods to confirm integrity.
Requirements
- Proven experience with MIG welding across construction sites or manufacturing environments.
- Strong knowledge of FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding) preferred.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately.
- Familiarity with ASME codes & standards governing weld quality and safety practices.
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, calipers, micrometers, and schematics for fabrication tasks.
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to fabrication specifications.
- Knowledge of manufacturing safety protocols including crane operation and forklift handling.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced settings while maintaining attention to detail.
